About Letterpress
Letterpress printing is credited with being one of the most significant developments of the last millennium. As the first widely-used printing method, letterpress helped give birth to the age of enlightenment and open the world of letters to more than just the very wealthy. Letterpress has a very distinct and recognizable style. A raised form, made from metal, wood or plastic is inked with a roller and then actually pressed into the paper. When done skillfully, it has an authenticity and tactile quality that is lacking in more modern printing techniques. Happily, modern letterpress combines of the ease and flexibility of current computer technology with the beauty and quality of ancient letterpress.
